Job Summary
The In-House Visa Issuance Officer is responsible for assisting FitsAir passengers with obtaining visas for international travel. The role includes processing visa applications, liaising with embassies and visa facilitation centers, and ensuring all documentation complies with immigration laws and airline policies. This role plays a critical part in minimizing denied boarding cases due to visa issues and enhancing overall customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Visa Services:
  • Process and issue visas for FitsAir passengers traveling to select destinations as per airline agreements or travel packages.
  • Collect, verify, and submit required documentation to relevant embassies, consulates, or visa facilitation centers.
  • Ensure compliance with the immigration requirements of destination countries.
  • Monitor visa application statuses and provide regular updates to customers.
• Customer Support:
  • Provide clear, accurate, and updated information to passengers regarding visa requirements.
  • Assist passengers in filling out visa forms, checking documentation, and resolving queries.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Ticketing, and Customer Support teams to ensure passengers are well-informed at the time of booking.
• Coordination & Liaison:
  • Liaise with embassies, consulates, and third-party visa service providers for timely processing.
  • Maintain professional relationships with immigration authorities and travel partners.
  • Support airport teams by ensuring visa compliance for outbound passengers.
• Administration & Reporting:
  • Maintain a secure and organized system of visa documentation and transaction records.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on visa issuance volumes, trends, and challenges.
  • Stay updated with changing visa policies, embassy requirements, and travel regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum GCE A/L qualification. A diploma in Travel & Tourism, International Relations, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in a visa facilitation role, preferably in an airline, travel agency, or visa service provider.
• Strong knowledge of visa requirements for key FitsAir destinations (e.g., UAE, India, Maldives, Russia, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills in English; fluency in Sinhala and/or Tamil is an advantage.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Proficient in MS Office and relevant visa processing software or portals.
